Project Mode

Lately I have been in 'project' mode as I am getting closer and closer to August and baby boy number three joining our family. With that said, I have been getting a lot done, but not a lot of posting of what I have been doing. So, without further adieu, My latest creations:

A cousin of mine is having her first little boy about a month after me and she was home visiting so we threw a surprise shower for her. My sister in law, mother in law and I went in on this gift for her. I made the bag and then we filled it with goodies. I may be a little biased, but I think she liked our gift the best! These bags really do make amazing gifts. I loved the variation with the fabric, I used more patterns on thie one and it made it have a fun personality all its own.

Just to give you an idea of the size of these bags. They are SO roomy! We filled her bag with some onsies (I cut some images out using my cricut and ironed them on and then stitche around them) diapers, a wipe case (of course matching) hand sanitizer, clippers,... the options to fill them are endless!

This diaper bag is for a friend that is due in just a few more days with her second little girl. Her husband wanted something without pink on it for those times that he would have to carry the bag. My friend came with me to pick out fabric and I love what we came up with! This was our happy medium for girly, but not too girly: an amazing orange and light blue paired with chocolate corduroy.I made this diaper bag a while ago with the other batch I forgot to take pictures of, my sister in law sent me the pictures so I could post them. The bulk of the fabric is the same as the one I made for our cousin, but look at the difference between the two!

This is the 'tote' bag I have been talking about. I made this for my friend who wanted a bigger bag than the pures, but not quite like the diaper bag. This is tall enough to hold a three ring binder and not have it poke out the top at all. It also has the usual pockets galore on the inside to hold all your smaller items you don't want lost at the bottom of the bag. She went with me to choose her fabrics and it was fun to make a bag with a colored corduroy instead of the neutrals I have been using. She inspired me to get some red that I will do with a cute black print in some time to come. The dimensions on this are 15 inches tall, 12 inches wide and 6 inches deep. She wanted me to do some flowers on the outside and I had fun experimenting with those. I added some green felt leaves to help tie it all together.
